About the Gallo's

In 2004 when my brother Tom, my cousin Larry, and I decided to open our own business, we were fortunate enough to have over 50 years of experience to draw from. Beginning in 1946 our grandfather, O.P. Gallo, founded a small tuxedo and formal wear company that was dedicated to providing service, quality and value in every aspect of the business; from their patrons, to their vendors, and most importantly to the staff that supported them. In addition to learning from O.P.’s success, we were doubly fortunate in being able to watch our other grandfather, Nick Giantonio, successfully own and operate the Giantonio Pastry Shop on North High Street for decades; providing artisan wedding cakes and Italian inspired confections throughout Columbus, Ohio. Their work ethic, integrity, and commitment to guest service, quality and value, remain the cornerstone of The Gallo’s Food Group today.

When the Tap Room opened in 2004 we were little more than a neighborhood watering hole that aspired to be something so much more: a premium sports venue with the city’s best selection of craft beer, and a menu that was chef driven and rooted in fresh, quality ingredients. Twelve years later… I’m proud to say that we have exceeded those expectations.

The Gallo’s Food Group

After working miracles in a kitchen the size of a closet at the Tap Room, my brother Tom took his culinary talents to a whole new level when we opened Gallo’s Kitchen and Bar in October of 2010. Located in Upper Arlington, Tommy’s tutelage under Chef David Russo blossomed into an intense fusion of classic Italian specialties and contemporary New Orleans creole cuisine, creating a flamboyant niche on the Columbus food scene.

Tom’s success allowed us to grow our reputation and our business, and in 2013 we decided to expand our kitchen at the Tap Room and hired Chef David Koenig to add his talent to The Gallo’s Food Group. Under Chef David’s direction the Tap Room has distinguished itself as more than a neighborhood sports tavern with his infusion of classic New York style pizza, brined wings, amazing burgers and scratch made soups, salads and sandwiches.

In addition to Tommy and Dave’s culinary talent, general managers Joe Casey and Jamie Hodder have created one of the city’s most exclusive bourbon and whisky programs, a unique wine list with a great selection of Italian vintages, and the best craft beer selection in Columbus.

We are so proud of where we have come from and where we are going! As 2016 marks the opening of our third location in Powell, Ohio, Tom, Larry and I are humbled and grateful for the support that we have received from our guests, our family and friends, and the dedicated staff who have been the backbone of our company. As our business grows so too does our family and community.

Gallo’s Food Group also utilizes the highest International guidelines in regards to purchasing fish and seafood, as well as sourcing the freshest produce, proteins and dairy products available.

Craft Beer and Bourbon/Whiskey Program

Gallo’s Tap Room has embraced craft and artisan beers since our inception in 2004. With 23 tap handles dedicated solely to premium craft beer, rotated daily to ensure freshness and quality, Gallo’s continues to be a leader in providing the finest tap house experience in Columbus. Gallo’s craft beer menu is changed and updated daily and is available at www.beermenus.com.

In addition to our craft beer selection, the Tap Room offers a variety of 50-70 premium bourbons and whiskeys. Based upon the outstanding relationships we have with noted distillers throughout Kentucky and the Midwest, Gallo’s Tap Room is not only able to offer rare and hard to find whiskeys, but we have also been able to hand select our own premium, small batch bourbons that are exclusively created for Gallo’s and only available to the public at our Tap Room locations.

Gallo’s Tap Room is unrivaled when it comes to providing the most advanced sports and technology experience in the city.  Our locations feature wall size projection screens, HD and 4K televisions in every room, as well as free wi-fi and streaming capability for private events and presentations. We love nothing more than our Buckeyes and Gallo’s is the only place to be on Saturdays if you want to tailgate in comfort!  We are sound up, sirens wailing, and wall to wall scarlet and grey every Saturday!  Go Bucks!
